LONGNOSE TANG Zebrasoma rostratum Gunther, 1875 This surgeonfish is almost black with a bright white tail spine and an unusually long snout. Its normal range is the Line Islands, French Polynesia and Pitcairn, but the fish pictured here has lived in Hanauma Bay, O`ahu, for years. It may be an aquarium release, but one cannot rule out the possibility that it is a stray. To about 10 in. Photo: Hanauma Bay, O`ahu.15 ft. |
