Acotylean J

Damaris Torres-Pulliza
found this small worm off O'ahu in November 2021. She posted photos
of it on iNaturalist..
Cory Pittman commented: "It's a flatworm
and, from the presence of dorsal tentacles, it's an Acotylean. The tentacles
are too far apart, proportionately, for Paraplanocera. And, it
has a single very large patch of eye spots between them. The random
brown blotches that coalesce into a somewhat irregular submarginal band
eliminate most illustrated species....the closest match on Leslie's
CD is "unidentified Acotylean 13." And, that's not close enough...
So, I'd just go with "unidentified Acotylean." Of course,
it looks small so there's some chance that it might come to resemble
something known with growth...."
