Euryleptid?
D
photos: Karolle Wall, off Kihei, Maui. Size: 10-12 mm.
Karolle Wall found this tiny white worm with low conical papillae off
Kihei, Maui. It does not resemble any of the species on the Newman &
Cannon CD. The long, well-developed marginal tentacles suggest the family
Euryleptidae, although Newman states that dorsal papillae are rare in
euryleptids. Karolle has posted photos of several other individuals
on her website: https://www.karollewall.com/euryleptid-sp/
One of these she reports was twice the size of the one below.
It differs in some details, thus might be something else. Or the differences
might be explained simply by its larger size.
