Paraplanocera?

photos: Damaris Torres-Pulliza, Haleiwa,

at night. Depth about 7 m. Length about 15 mm. Sept.25, 2022

Nothing quite like this appears on the Newman & Cannon CD. The animal
is translucent white with an irregular netlike pattern of thin lines
composed largely of dots. The long, pointed head tentacles are black.
There is a central mound in which the internal organs and possibly eggs
are clearly visible. Or, as Cory Pittman suggests, perhaps just the
remains of its last meal.

writes: "It was hard to take photos with all the light seeking
night 'bugs' and because the animal quickly disappeared into the ground."
