Pericelis
4 photo 1: Black Point, O`ahu. Under rock. 3 ft. photo 2: Cory Pittman, Kapalua Bay, Maui, < 26 ft. ID from the Newman and Cannon CD, where photo 1 appears. CD description reads: "Background body colour white without markings." Despite the fact that photo 1 appears on the CD as Pericelis 4, it is likely that the animals in these photos are actually Pericelis hymanae and that hymanae is variable with regards to the presence of the thin brown line. We are investigating and may merge these two in future. The "Purse Shell Flatworm" on Keoki Stender's website is probably the same species. BACK to solid colors |
