Color description from CD reads: "Background colour mottled deep
red with raised cream microdots giving the surface an uneven pattern
and texture. Pseudotentacles
extremely small and close together.... These flatworms lay bright
red egg masses on their ascidian prey and extrude red mucus if disturbed."
P. cruentus is known from South Africa, Australia, Indonesia, Micronesia,
Japan, and now Hawai`i.
