Pseudocerotid

photo: Rebecca Bicker, Ulua Beach, Maui.
Rebecca Bicker writes: "Here is a little flatworm (1-1.5 cm) I
saw in the water column at Ulua on 1/22/21. It was definitely swimming
in an undulatory fashion when I first saw it at Ulua." The
Newman & Cannon CD does not show any white worms with red marginal
spots. The tentacles are hard to see, but
they look like simple folds which would suggest the genus Pseudoceros.
However the animal was swimming in an undulatory fashion, which
would suggest Pseudobiceros. Or it could be something else. We'll
just call it a Pseudocerotid for now. More photos of this rare worm
would be most welcome.
